Applications

1. Industrial Production Field

• Glass Manufacturing: It acts as a flux, which can lower the melting temperature of glass raw materials, reduce energy consumption, and at the same time improve the transparency and chemical stability of glass.
• Paper Industry: When added during the pulping process, it can enhance the bleaching effect of pulp, making the paper whiter in color; it can also increase the strength and flexibility of paper.
• Detergent Production: As a filler and builder, it can increase the volume of products such as washing powder and laundry detergent, and at the same time improve the decontamination ability, especially having a certain softening effect on hard water.
• Chemical Synthesis: It is used in the production of other chemical products such as sodium sulfide and sodium silicate, and is a basic raw material in many chemical reactions.

1. Textile Dyeing and Printing Field

• Dyeing Promotion: When dyeing with dyes (especially direct dyes and reactive dyes), adding Glauber’s salt can increase the dye uptake rate of dyes on fabrics, making the color richer and more uniform, and reducing dye waste.
• Color Fixation Assistance: It helps dyes combine better with fibers, improves the color fastness of dyed fabrics, and prevents color fading during subsequent washing.
• Pharmaceutical Field
• Oral Administration (as a Laxative): After oral administration, it is not easily absorbed by the intestines, and can form a hypertonic environment in the intestines, preventing water absorption, increasing intestinal volume, and stimulating intestinal peristalsis, thereby relieving constipation or being used for preoperative intestinal cleaning.
• External Use: When prepared into a solution for external application, it has the effects of reducing swelling and relieving pain, and can be used to alleviate skin inflammation, swelling and pain, or local swelling caused by bruises.

IV.Other Daily and Agricultural Fields

• Daily Uses: It can be used as a desiccant to absorb moisture in the air; it can also be used to adjust the water quality of swimming pools, helping to stabilize the pH value and calcium hardness of the water body.
• Agricultural Uses: In small amounts, it can be used as a fertilizer to supplement sulfur and sodium elements for crops, especially suitable for sulfur-deficient soils. However, the dosage must be controlled, as excessive use will cause toxicity to crops.
